The Ernest Foundation has successfully completed the construction of a new water well in a remote village, bringing clean and safe drinking water to over 2,000 residents. This achievement represents months of planning, fundraising, and community engagement.
Before this project, women and children in the community walked up to 5 kilometres daily to collect water from an unsafe source. The new well, equipped with a hand pump and solar-powered motor, provides a reliable and clean water supply throughout the year.
The project also included the installation of proper sanitation facilities and a hygiene education programme, ensuring that the community can maintain good health practices alongside the improved water access.
